New NSLS Work Plan Focuses on Survival of Libraries

Libraries are at a pivotal point in their history. On one hand, they are receiving more attention than ever before because of the services they offer in today's tight economy. On the other hand, studies show that people are getting more of the information and entertainment they need online. All types of libraries (academic, public, school, and special) are facing funding cuts or are in danger of closing altogether. NSLS wants to help all of our members survive and thrive in this volatile environment. Our FY 2009-2010 work plan is intended to help our members have a real presence in their community or organization, streamline their work, focus on the future, and work collaboratively.
