Lecture Series

The series, called Rise and Shine, debuted last year and will resume in September. The series was designed to provide the community with more daytime programs and to serve as a forum to exchange ideas on a variety of topics. This year’s series will examine topics as varied as Israel’s place in the Middle East, global warming, and architecture along the Chicago River. The lectures, scheduled for September through May, begin at 10:30 a.m., and are free and open to the public.

Library Dogs

In early August Skokie Public Library posted a "Dog Days" page in the Kids section of their site, including an"Our Library Dogs" page featuring photos of staff members' various canine friends and family members. One dog in particular, Garth Oberman (who lives with Tobi Oberman of Circulation and Ron Oberman of Youth Services), didn't have any of his own photos so Ron and Tobi brought him to the library for a photo shoot.
