Clue® Game Tournament

The Lake Villa District Library Foundation will host an official Clue® Game Tournament over two weekends beginning on Saturday, April 30, 2005 and concluding on Saturday, May 7, 2005. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Lake Villa District Library Foundation. The Foundation hopes to raise over $10,000 in donations through the tournament.

Exhibit

Skokie Public Library is hosting a photography exhibit entitled, "Voices in the Hall." The prints are by celebrated photographer Jon Lowenstein and depict students from Paul Revere School in Chicago. The exhibit includes work the school's photography club took as well.

LibraryU Clue Contest Winner

Jeanne Lohfink, Beach Park Middle School, was a winner in the LibraryU Clue contest. She won a $25 gift certificate to Barnes & Noble.

Volunteer Program

Indian Trails Public Library is offering a Homework Helper Program. The program is successful through the help of volunteers such as Ether Kim, a Junior at Buffalo Grove High School. Speaking Korean and English allows Esther to understand why many students who were born in different countries need additional help with their homework. She loves volunteering at Indian Trails Library because she is able to explain the directions and helpful hints of how to get homework organized to those whose native language may be Spanish, Korean, Polish, or Russian. Homework Helper Program is open to all students in grades one through eight, regardless whether their native language is English, Spanish, Korean, Polish or Russian.
