Buzz Marketing
Examples of library word-of-mouth marketing projects created with support of a 2007 LSTA grant. Projects by academic, public, school, and special libraries focused on staff and board education, and a wide range of promotional efforts for online resources, new buildings, general community awareness, and more. Many library reports include samples of supporting marketing and education materials.

Library Newsletters

Newsletters from NSLS public libraries. Staff members from public libraries can add new issues or remove any existing issues.

Library Marketing Podcasts
Visit NSLS Director Sarah Long's Web site to listen to selected podcast interviews with marketing and public relations specialists from both inside and outside the library world. Can be experienced as an audiofile on your computer or downloaded to an MP3 player.

Marketing toolkits put together by NSLS for libraries to use for promotion of a variety of cooperative services.

Sample Marketing Plans
Includes sample plans from NSLS and several members.

Return on Investment (ROI) Calculator

Both libraries and individuals can use the calculator to determine the return on each dollar spent. Libraries may use the calculator to provide a concrete example of how they use tax dollars to provide the community with services. Individuals may use it to see how much they would spend in out-of- pocket expenses for materials and services they use per library visit.
