Written by various NSLS staff members, this blog covers a broad range of topics focusing on a behind the scenes look at projects, staff, and programs at NSLS.
Communities of Practice (CoPs)
If you would like to get to know your colleagues and share best practices
with them consider joining a CoP. Each CoP provides several areas for
sharing, including a discussion forum to exchange and achieve threaded
conversations, a directory of members with hyperlinks to their personal
email, a calendar of events of all meetings, a files area allowing members
to download posted papers or handouts, and a links area providing a list
of professional Web sites. Visit the Special Librarian CoP.
Next Day Delivery
Need a hard to find resource? Have NSLS find it for you and delivery it
to your library. Many of our Special Libraries use our Next Day Delivery
service for items they cannot locate via their own means. This value-added
service is as simple as a phone call to (847) 459-1375 and is part of
your membership in NSLS.
Networking Groups
The Special Librarian Networking Group meets quarterly in the evening
at NSLS headquarters, providing an opportunity for networking, dinner,
and a presentation.
