Fast
Facts
Creating online surveys related to public library policies, issues, and
trends is quick and easy. Previous surveys may also be reviewed at this
site.
Reciprocal
Borrowing Program (RBP)
Expanding the amount of materials your patrons can have access to is one
of the benefits of this program. Your library card holders can use their
home library card to visit other NSLS public libraries and check out materials.
InfoPass
Assisting your patrons with
their special information needs is as simple as providing them with an
InfoPass to visit special and academic libraries. You may also download
the PDF form.
TrusteE-Training
Finding out what the roles and
responsibilities of public library boards can be accomplished by accessing
the online resource.
Communities of Practice (CoPs)
If you would like to get to know your colleagues and share best practices
with them consider joining a CoP. Each CoP provides several areas for
sharing, including a discussion forum to exchange and achieve threaded
conversations, a directory of members with hyperlinks to their personal
email, a calendar of events of all meetings, a files area allowing members
to download posted papers or handouts, and a links area providing a list
of professional Web sites.
Networking Groups
Meeting with your colleagues face-to-face and discussing issues that pertain
to your library is invaluable. NSLS offers many networking opportunities
throughout the year for your convenience.
