Erin Wyatt - 2008 School Library Staff Member of the Year

For demonstrating that students will seek out books if inspired, and that a virtual learning center can be a welcoming destination. Highland Middle School Principal Sharon Aspinall says that Erin is “a gift to us.” That sentiment is echoed by Highland teachers and parents, and library colleagues throughout Illinois. Who is this wonder, whose book clubs have students gladly giving up their lunchtime recess? Did she use a magic wand to create Highland’s out-of-this-world virtual learning center, which has helped both students and parents become information literate? With great skill, Erin has created a place where learners of all ages are welcomed, informed, and focused for success.
