Replacement for NSLS Communities of Practice (CoPs) and Mailing Lists

NSLS shut down all of our CoPs and mailing lists on July 31, 2010. Unfortunately, we were no longer able to afford the costs for operating the servers that housed these tools and have no technical staff to maintain and troubleshoot them.

It is very important that NSLS stay in contact with our members, especially as we work towards a merger with four other Illinois library systems (Alliance Library System, DuPage Library System, Metropolitan Library System and Prairie Area Library System). In order to keep the lines of communication open, NSLS has set up a MailChimp list. We will send out updates about what is happening at NSLS at least once a month via the MailChimp list. Communicating with NSLS about Van Delivery

Van Delivery is currently the only service NSLS is able to provide because of budget restrictions. There are currently five full-time employees and one part-time employee in the Delivery department. Don Johnson is Acting Supervisor of the Delivery department. If you have any questions about delivery, you can contact Don at 847-353-7147 or djohnson@nsls.info. Don normally works Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Communicating with NSLS abut General Issues

Though we are making every attempt to keep the lines of communication with our members open, since we are not here full-time (except for the Delivery department), there is a possibility of information falling through the cracks. Though there is a good chance they will not be available to give you an immediate response, they will get back to you as soon as possible.
