Anita Forte-Scott was first elected in September 2007 to fill an unexpired one-year term for 2007-2008.

Sandra Norlin was first elected in September 2004 to fill a vacancy for a 2004-2006 term.

The election of representatives to serve as board directors is held at the regular May meeting.  In even-numbered years, one special, one at large and five public library representatives are elected as directors.  In odd-numbered years, one academic, one school, four public library, and two at large representatives are elected to the board.  The election of officers takes place at the regular June meeting.

The Board of Directors, NSLS, shall consist of fifteen (15) members, as follows:

(i)       At least nine (9) shall be Representatives of the boards of member public libraries; provided, however, one (1) of such Representative may be a staff member of a member public library as determined in the election of the NSLS Board as specified in the NSLS Bylaws;
(ii)      Three (3) shall be Representatives of other member organizations, and, shall represent, respectively, the interests of academic, school, and special libraries;
(iii)      The remaining three (3) members will be elected at large from among the representatives of libraries of all types, public, academic, school and special, and without regard to type of library, represented as specified by the NSLS bylaws.
